REQUIEM FOR A HEAVYWEIGHT
Version 1.2
Copyright 1989 Paul D. Dembowski
Notes:
Requiem For A Heavyweight is a sophisticated boxing simulation program.
If recreating boxing matches between famous boxers such as Jack
Dempsey and Rocky Marciano appeals to you, I think you will enjoy
this game.
This game is being distributed as shareware. That means that if you
spend a considerable amount of time playing the game please send
$5.00 to
Paul Dembowski
102-1 Georgetown Rd.
Charlottesville Va. 22901
I can be reached by telephone at (804) 979-9237 after 6:00 p.m.
If you have a modem, I can also be reached by E-Mail at the Exec-PC BBS
at (414) 964-5160.
I am currently working on a much more sophisticated and powerful
version of this program. It will not be a shareware product. Unless
there is a big demand, this will be the last shareware version of
the game. The reason for this is that I don't have enough spare
time to both enhance this game while rewriting a new one.
If your really into Sports Simulations, look into a magazine
called Pro-Gamer. There is an article about this program in a
recent edition. You should also be able to find tips on how to
rate boxers for this and similar programs. The subscription
price for one year (U.S. only) is $25.00.
Send Check to:
Pro-Gamer
P.O. Box 1638
Spring Valley, California 92077
or call Mark Cohen at (619) 463-5764.
Machine Requirements:
Requiem For A Heavyweight should run on any type of IBM compatible
Personal Computer no matter what the monitor. In other words there
are no graphics.

messages are at the bottom of every screen should you should have

Strategies:
There are six strategies, each has it's positives and negatives.
Normal : Fighter stands flat-footed.
Cover Up : Waste a round, useful if fighter needs to recover or to rest.
Fight Inside : Stalk your opponent and try to punish him inside.
Outside Offensively : Stay outside, but still try to do damage.
Defensively : Ideal strategy if your comfortably ahead or scared.
Go for Knockout : Look for the big opening.
